6 Day Acro Retreat for Beginners and Intermediate in the south of Portugal

Join us for our second Beginners+ Intermediate Acro Retreat in the breathtaking landscapes of Portugal's Algarve!

Immerse yourself in six days of joy, connection, and self-discovery guided by your Teachers Juri,  Angelique and other special guest teacher (tba) so as to ensure simultaneous teaching on two different ability levels.

Escape the city and embrace the stunning nature of Portugal as you explore the fusion of Acrobatics, Yoga, Acro-fitness and Thai-Massage!

Our carefully curated workshops are designed for enthusiastic beginners to experienced Intermediates: There will be workshops focused for beginners, some for intermediates, and also mixed workshops (beginners working towards intermediate). 

Discover the power of trust, community-building and communication as your professional teachers, with their infectious energy and expertise, lead you through helpful tecniques, playful sessions and empowering workouts.

Whether you're flying/basing for the first time or refining your skills as an experienced acro yogi, this retreat is a celebration of community and personal growth.

Happening in the stunning mountains of Monchique, our beautiful retreat spot will provide you with 3 delicious Vegan/Veggie meals from your favorite local Chef Louie, as well as a Sauna and Jacuzzi to recover and refuel after each day of learning new skills, surrounded by nature and sunshine! In addition to our exciting training schedule, you can also expect fun extra activities, such as a beach day where we'll throw a big jam together and complete it with a photo session.

Accommodation:

There will be a big yurt (Space for 20ppl) for sleeping including extra costs of 15,-/night  and private Tent options for 2-4ppl (20,- per night) for the duration of the retreat.

It is also possible to rent sleeping equipment (airmat and sleeping bag) for 20,- for the retreat time, but there is a decathlon in Portimao as well.

Camping on the venue with your own Tent or campervan costs 10,- per night per tent/van and there will be various bookable accommodations in Monchique area.

Inform us if you want to come earlier and/or stay longer at the venue (the owner is also happy to host people for a longer period before/after the retreat to support and create the land).

Shuttle Service:

We will provide a limited Pick-Up "Faro Airport <-> Monchique" depending on number of ppl. joining a ride. Costs will be around 10-15 Euro/Person per ride.

Anyhow we recommend the car rentals at the airport + creating a carpool with other AcroYogis to share costs (Whatsapp Group will be created).

Also there is public transports between the airport, Portimao and Monchique. In Monchique Town (20min from the venue) we can pick up/drop off before and after the retreat.

Costs:

The full costs for the Retreat include 3 Meals (Cold Breakfast/Lunch and warm Dinner) and all workshops.

Early Bird (bis 01.10.2024) 385,- €

Late Bird (bis 01.11.2024) 430,- €

Regular (until sold out) 475,- €

There will be reduced prices for locals registered in Portugal.

Please keep in mind, that your spot will only be reserved once you have sent the pre-payment of 250,- €.

What else?

We are creating this retreat together, please keep the enviroment clean and honor the nature around you. "Leave the space better than you found it".

There will be a little shift schedule for all of us to help with preparing food and cleaning the space. 

A assuming number of min. 10 registrations is necessary.

About your Teachers:

Juri is a playful acroyoga teacher, circus performer, musician and artist of many disciplines. Originally from Kyrgyzstan, based in Berlin. 10 years ago , after studying Architecture and Sculpture he discovered his passion for Acroyoga and Partner Acrobatics. Since then he's researching, teaching and performing a mixture of Acroyoga combined with the pleasure of the game from physical theater which he studied at physical theater schools in France (Phillippe Gaulier) and Italy (Matteo Destro).

Well known for his circus duo Barada Street and his playful Acroyoga classes he's travelling the world and sharing his passions.

„Every human has the inherent necessity to learn, imitate, connect and understand. As children we learn with fun and pleasure. Becoming an adult we lose this connection of playing and learning out of different reasons. Life gets more serious and our „inner critic“ is growing so that we get blocked in our body and mind to express and enjoy ourselves. In the game we're children again which trust in their impulses, enthusiasm and playfulness. I see and embrace this quality in practicing Acroyoga and looking forward to play with you in a trustful atmosphere." 

Angélique has her backround in dancing. At a very young age she started with ballet and became a professional Dancer and Teacher in the north-west part of Germany. Originally from Essen she travelled through Europe and lived mostly in spain and India, where she became a Yoga Teacher. As she moved to Berlin 8 years ago she refined her Skills in Pilates and Yoga Therapy and is now well know for her work with professional Athletes, participating on the Olympics, next to clients like Adidas, the German Sportssupport or Nena (Singer). She found her passion in Acrobatics 7 Years ago and practices and teaches ever since. 

"For me Acrobatics is the most joyful way of overcoming own mental limits and building trust to yourself and to another person.

The best about acro for me? You can´t do it alone, reactivating the inner child, "playing" in a group of (new) friends and simply enjoying the infinite possibilities of physics."

Juri and Angélique are teaching regular Classes in Berlin, Kreuzberg and "flying" around different Events, Workshops and Conventions in Europe.
